HARRY LAVENDER ADOLPHUS CULMER (American, 1854-1914) “THE FOREST BROOK.” Large oil on canvas scene shows a winding brook with rock and grass banks through a thick forest. Blue sky can be seen through trees and sunlight shines through the thick canopy on the floor below. Signed lower right “HLA Culmer”. Titled on stretcher on reverse. Housed in a gesso decorated gilt frame with gilt liner which is probably original framing. SIZE: 30″ x 40″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-91798 (5,000-10,000)
