TWO GILT DECORATED FEDERAL MIRRORS. First third 19th Century. The first example with stepped molded cornice suspended with 15 spherules above an eglomise panel depicting the U.S. Constitution under full sail within a border of acorn and oak leaves above a rectangular mirror plate. The second neoclassical example with gilt cornice above a rectangular eglomise panel decorated with gilt scrolling and bow-tied grapevine garland above a rectangular plate. SIZE: First 31″ x 18″ overall; Second 34″ x 19″ overall. PROVENANCE: Estate of Nancy H. Woods, Boothbay, Maine. CONDITION: Fair to good. 9-20906 (600-900)
