UNIQUE MASONIC TRAMP ART TABLE TOP DESK. Second half 19th Century. The rectangular cabinet with hinged top opening to a velvet-lined well, the lid interior fitted with mirror. The long case side with vertical hinged lid opening to form a baise-lined writing surface. The interior with an arrangement of valanced cubbyholes, inkwell, and holder, pen drawers and stationary compartments. The lid carved with Masonic symbols. The opposing side fitted with a bank of five drawers. Each cabinet end also fitted with a bank of five short drawers. The whole carved in typical Tramp Art form. SIZE: 24-1/2″ h x 19″ l x 11″. PROVENANCE: From the “Harp House” of Camden, Maine. CONDITION: Very good. All surfaces original. 9-26995 (500-750)
