UNUSUAL CARVED BLACK FOREST STYLE DRESSER BOX. Late 19th century, Northern European. The round oak box heavily and deeply carved with coral, starfish, crabs and shells within simulated carved reefs. The sides with shell handles, raised on scrolled simulated shell feet. The hinged lid opening to a compartmented interior. SIZE: 13″ h x 17″ w x 13-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From the “Harp House” of Camden, Maine. CONDITION: With all original surfaces and dark color and patina. Very good. 9-26834 (800-1,200)
