SIX CONTINENTAL AND ENGLISH BOXES INCLUDING BATTERSEA EXAMPLES. 19th Century. Includes a figural example of a woman’s face with mask and with an engraved brass lid designed as a pendant; a circular Battersea box decorated with a portrait of a woman in purple with spiderweb decoration; an oval enamel box of a recumbent deer; a Battersea box of a bulldog; a porcelain floral decorated basket-form box with a late Meissen mark; the last, a bodekin in the form of a colonette with a semi-nude female bust. SIZE: Heights vary from 1-1/2″ – 4″. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: All in good condition. The enameled spider web box with chips on base rim.
