RUSSIAN ENAMEL TEA GLASS HOLDER. Circa 1895/6?. This cup form “podstakannik” enameled overall with scrolling leaf tips centering teardrop cartouches of scrolling vinery within arrowhead and beaded borders on a gold washed silver body with raised foot rim. The underside of the cup with multiple touchmarks as follows: “88” (916/1000 silver), a man on horseback and makers’ mark with what appears to be “HA”. Moscow area 1890-1895. Gross weight: 11 troy oz. SIZE: 3-1/2″ h x 2-7/8″ d. PROVENANCE: Property of an East Coast Institution. CONDITION: Very good overall with some deterioration to white enamel around base rim. 9-98329 (800-1,200)
