BLACK FOREST CARVED STANDING BEAR. Late 19th century, Switzerland. Carved in a standing position on rockwork, forepaws extended palm up, carved with open mouth and mounted with hazel colored glass eyes. SIZE: 31″ h. PROVENANCE: From the “Harp House” of Camden, Maine. CONDITION: Very good with original surfaces. It is probable the bear once held a tray for calling cards, now absent. Claws on forepaws with old areas of roughness. 9-26812 (800-1,200)
