NEW ENGLAND SHERATON BIRCH TRIPLE BACK SETTEE. First quarter of the 19th Century. This triple back square example now stripped of original paint decoration. The two-tier crest rail separated by oval patera, each chair back with five spindles of alternating arrowhead and lozenge design joined to similar arms centering a rectangular seat frame raised on eight spindle legs joined by a spindle box stretcher. SIZE: 33-3/4″ h of back x 76″ overall l. CONDITION: Structurally good but absent of any finish. 9-97874 (300-500)
