LARGE CASED MODEL OF THE STEAMSHIP YACHT “NOPARO”, NEW YORK. Large mahogany and painted ship model of planked construction, fully rigged with two stabilizing masts and central stack. Decks with two powerboats and four lifeboats. Entire red and white hulled ship is realistically depicted, mounted in a large plate glass case on ebonized stand. The “Noparo” was the Woolworth family yacht and this model was custom built for the family and as such is unique. NOTE: Along with the model are two framed vintage photographs of the yacht. SIZE: Model: 24″ h x 76″ l. Case: 70″ h x 82-1/2″ w x 22″ d. PROVENANCE: The Woolworth Estate (F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store). CONDITION: Rudder has some damage, otherwise the model is in very good condition. 9-21266 (2,000-4,000)
