CARVED BLACK FOREST STAG’S HEAD MOUNT. Late 19th Century. Switzerland. The life-sized carving with natural antlers rendered with brown glass eyes mounted on a shield-shaped plaque. SIZE: 61″ overall h, 42″ overall w. PROVENANCE: From the “Harp House” of Camden, Maine. CONDITION: With untouched surfaces small checks on nose and old vertical shrinkage cracks left and right side of head, antlers are now loose in the sockets in need of reinforcing, otherwise very good. 9-26937 (2,000-3,000)
