EMANUEL VILLANIS (French, 1880-1920) “SAPHO”. The bronze sculpture depicts Sapho as a young woman playing a lyre. She is dressed in a decorated robe which falls down on the naturalistic rock base that she stands upon. Title on the edge and signed. Also includes a stamp “Societe des Bronzes de Paris”. Nice brown bronze patina. SIZE: 28-1/2” h x 9” x 7” base. CONDITION: Very good. 9-71065 (3,000-5,000)
