NEW ENGLAND SHERATON MAHOGANY AND MAPLE BOW FRONT CHEST OF DRAWERS. Second quarter 19th century, probably Maine. The rectangular top with turret corners and bow front above the conforming case with four reeded engaged 3/4 columns as pilasters. The four bow front drawers with cockbeaded edges and figured mahogany veneers. Case raised on ring turned swelled cylindrical legs with suppressed ball feet. The case finished in a red wash. SIZE: 41-1/2″ h x 43-1/4″ w overall x 21-1/2″ d. CONDITION: The chest has been refinished. Proper right side with large repaired shrinkage crack. Otherwise good. 9-98368 (700-900)
