RARE ARCHITECTURAL WROUGHT IRON DOORBELL. Late 19th century. This fine example of wrought iron work forming a rectangular frame of C-scrolls headed by a wrought iron spray of flowers centering a reel mounted with 12 brass bells joined to a wrought iron crank. Sometimes known as “tavern bells” this example originally designed to be mounted on the exterior of a building serving as a doorbell. It remains operational. SIZE: 35″ l overall x 22″ d x 18″ w of wheel. CONDITION: Very good overall with minimal rust. One bell with damage. 9-20793 (700-900)
