BLACK FOREST CARVED BEAR UMBRELLA STAND. Late 19th century, Switzerland. The bear carved astride a rockwork base with open mouth painted red fitted with brown glass eyes, forearms extended holding a crescent shaped branch above an oval drip pan raised on branch carved feet. SIZE: 31-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From the “Harp House” of Camden, Maine. CONDITION: With original surfaces, now a dark brown. Showing normal wear and abrasions around umbrella stand due to use.
