C & L.C. IVES CARVED MAHOGANY SHELF CLOCK. Second quarter 19th century, Connecticut. A labeled example with two eglomise panels flanked by acanthus carved engaged half columns, the cornice acanthus and pineapple carved. The wood gold gilt dial with central mirrored aperture within scrolling spandrels. The 8 day brass movement with time and strike apertures striking on a bell. Offered with winder, pendulum, weights and door key. SIZE: 36″ h x 17-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Case overall good. Feet absent. Dial is dry with paint loss. 9-26751 (600-800)
