RARE CAST IRON AMERICAN DRAGON WEATHERVANE. 19th century. This finely cast gilded example retains original mounting rod cast through front leg into body for roof or wall mounting. Modeled with fierce visage and with scrolling serpent tail and with large well detailed fanciful wing. Surfaces also with traces of white and green paint on older gilded surface. Offered without stand. SIZE: Overall: 19″ h x 27-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Structurally very good with normal, minor and expected pitting. Overall very good. 9-26287 (1,500-2,500)
