FINE BLACK FOREST CARVING OF FOX CLUTCHING BIRD. Circa 1900. Depicting an alert fox with brown glass eyes stealthily climbing a rock work leafy plinth gripping a game bird in his jaws. SIZE: 19-1/2″ h x 26″ l x 11″ d. CONDITION: With original surfaces. Repair to snout. Right foreleg in need of restoration at separated seam. It is believed that the front of the rock work plinth once contained an additional object, possibly a clock. Otherwise good. 9-20639 (800-1,000)
