IRVINGTON FIRE CARRIAGE KEROSENE LANTERN. 19th century. This fine hexagonal example mounted with red, clear and blue glass beveled panels. This example from the Irvington, NJ Hook & Ladder #1 company. Five panels etched and frosted in floral design. The central red panel etched “IRVINGTON / 1/ H&L”. Each panel mounted within cast floral spandrels. Lantern manufactured by E. Tillmann Makers, NY. SIZE: 14″ h. CONDITION: The copper body in good condition overall, missing eagle finial. One blue glass panel broken, but remains in place. Lantern retains original “Convex” kerosene burner. Appears to be missing base cap or pendant drop. Upper cap bent out of alignment. 9-98448 (1,000-2,000)
