PAINT DECORATED BRIDE BOX. Early 19th century. Probably Normandy, France. The dome lid fitted to the rectangular box decorated overall with stylized floral sprigs, berries and flowers. The lid additionally with a song bird. SIZE: 6-1/2″ h x 10-1/4″ l x 6-1/4″ d. CONDITION: Lid with original wire carrying handle, hasp and lockplate. Remnants of old lock remain within. Wire lid hinges reset. Paint generally fair with scrubbed surfaces. Original paint decoration fair. 9-25565 (800-1,200)
