FINE CHINA TRADE CARVED TEAK SETTEE. Chinese, Mid-19th Century. Rectangular back with arched crest mounted with three oval backrests joined to the rectangular over-upholstered seat flanked by leaf carved arms headed by fanciful carved swans, the hand grips of birds in flight above scrolled volutes. On incurved leaf carved supports joined to the carved seat rail and raised on heavily carved claw feet. The whole profusely pierce carved with scrolling foliate and floral vinery, the crestrail with central carved heraldic crest, the apron having a central crest flanked by winged birds. SIZE: 37″ h x 76″ l x 30″ d. CONDITION: Very good overall, retaining original surfaces and nice dark brown patina with some minor cosmetic repairs. 9-98676 (2,000-4,000)
