*J.P. SAUER & SOHN BLE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 400425. Cal. 12 ga. 25-3/4″ bbls, matted tapered concave rib, with sgl silver sighting bead, SKEET/SKEET choke, 2-3/4″ chamber, ejectors & dbl triggers. Top rib marked “J.P. SAUER & SOHN SUHL GERMANY”, scalloped boxlock receiver with minimal foliate border engraving and marked “J.P. SAUER & SOHN SUHL” on each side. Mounted with straight grain walnut, checkered straight grip, Sauer hard rubber buttplate, blank gold oval, and checkered splinter forend. LOP: 14-3/8″. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Family (F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store) CONDITION: Very good. Bbls retain orig blue that has a very thin layer of fine storage oxidation. Receiver retains strong orig case colors blending with silver patina on high spots and across bottom. Stock is sound with slightly worn checkering, minor nicks & dings, small chip missing from heel of buttplate and retains some flaking orig varnish. There are a couple minor depressions in toe line near buttplate, forend is sound with slightly worn checkering, normal nicks & dings and retains flaking orig varnish with hand worn patina. Mechanics are crisp with auto safety, strong ejectors and very nice bores. 9-21256 (1,250-1,750)
