*ITHACA NID GRADE 4-E SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 439498. Cal 12 ga. 30″ bbls, checkered tapered concave rib with sgl brass sighting bead, FULL/FULL choke, 2-3/4″ chambers, ejectors and dbl triggers. Usual NID receiver with cocking indicators, engraved with standard Grade 4 pattern of bold floral scroll with stippled background, “ITHACA GUN CO”, with duck in flight on left side and “ITHACA, N.Y.” and strutting pheasant on right. Mounted with nicely figured flame grain walnut, fleur-de-lis checkered pistol grip, black hard rubber grip cap, serrated hard rubber buttplate, blank gold initial shield, checkered splinter forend with ebony tip insert, LOP: 14-1/4″. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Family (F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store) CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 85% orig blue with some muzzle wear, minor nicks & scratches, a couple small areas of fine surface oxidation, and a minor dent about half way on right bbl. Receiver shows good orig case colors with some darkening and blending with dark patina across bottom. Stock is sound with slightly worn checkering, normal minor nicks & dings, and retains orig oil finish. Forend is sound with slightly worn checkering, usual nicks & dings and retains orig oil finish blending with hand worn patina. Mechanics are crisp with auto-safety and strong ejectors. Bores are good with a few spots of very shallow pitting. 9-21007 (2,000-3,000)
