J. HUDSON MUSICAL BRACKET CLOCK. 18th century, London, England. The refinished ebonized case on plinth raised on scrolled feet. The coffin cresting fitted with brass carrying handle. The brass 6 tune musical movement on cylinder and 9 bells striking on a single bell. 5 drum chain driven fusee movement. Back plate with etched scrolling floral and foliate decorated. The 7-3/4″ silvered dial with Arabic and Roman numeral chapter ring fitted with time, strike and musical apertures. The name “Josh Hudson” over “London” on clock face. Marked beneath the arch with a scale of tunes. SIZE: Case: 21-1/2″ h x 14-1/2″ w x 9-3/4″ d. CONDITION: Scrolled L-shaped mounting bracket twisted and bent. One bell within rack broken. Hand for musical scale in two pieces. Movement generally in need of restoration. Ebonized case has been refurbished. 9-26085 (2,500-3,500)
