INTERESTING GRAIN PAINTED CHEST OF DRAWERS WITH CUPBOARD TOP. Mid 19th century, probably Maine. The rectangular chest with stepped deck top fitted with two tiers of aligned drawers surmounted by a two door cupboard with molded cornice all above the conforming chest fitted with a long drawer above three long drawers, the fronts of which are all inlaid with figural birch panels. All flanked by engaged half column pilasters raised on baluster turned legs terminating in ball feet. Chest with simulated mahogany graining. SIZE: Chest 53-1/2”; with top 81”. Case size 42-1/2” w x 21-3/4” d. Cupboard top 28” w. PROVENANCE: From the “Harp House” of Camden, Maine. CONDITION: Structurally very good with old untouched surfaces. Cast iron foliate handles later additions. Minor abrasions to painted surfaces on edges. 9-26917 (1,000-2,000)
