FINE HALF HULL MODEL OF A FOUR MASTED SCHOONER AND AN ARCHITECT’S DRAWING. Late 19th century. The model, comprised of ten contrasting hard wood lifts, depicted with partial prow, mounted on a mahogany board. Inscribed “ARCHITECHT: JJ WARDELL. FOUR MASTED SCHOONER Keel 200′ Beam 41′ Depth 22′”. Being sold with an architect’s scale drawing showing a mid-ship section proposed for a four masted schooner and marked “No 1892″. Housed in a modern gilt wood frame with black matte. SIZE: Half hull: 10″ x 51-1/2”. Drawing: 14-3/4″ x 18″ sight. CONDITION: Half hull in very good structural condition with original varnished surfaces, now with craquelure. The frame drawing in very good condition overall. 9-98522 (1,500-2,000)
