TWO CHINESE EXPORT POLYCHROME PAINTED TANKARDS. Late 18th and mid-19th century. The first, of the Qianlong Period, in a Famille Rose design decorated with Mandarin figures within blue scrolling floral borders. The second, a 19th century example, decorated with a panel depicting a group of men and women accompanied by a child taking tea at a table within blue scrolling foliate borders. SIZE: First 5″ h, second 4-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From a prominent Southern Maine Collection. Acquired from the Collection of Mr. & Mrs. Flayderman. CONDITION: Each with old professional repairs in rim areas visible under blacklight. Otherwise very good overall. 9-98716 (600-900)
