EARLY AMERICAN BIRCH & PINE STANDING DESK IN BLUE PAINT. Mid 19th Century. The rectangular case with hinged sloping lid opening to a well fitted with two rows of cubbyholes. The case with applied rectangular mid-molding and angular backsplash, and fitted with a central cupboard door opening to an interior of fixed shelves. SIZE: 43-3/4″ h x 39″ w x 18-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: Barbara J. Thornsjo Estate, Albion, Maine CONDITION: The desk with old blue painted surfaces showing extensive wear, cupboard door warped, otherwise structurally good with original backboards. 9-20821 (300-500)
