BAKU CORRIDOR RUG, EAST CAUCASUS. Late 19th, early 20th century. With two aligned geometric lozenge medallions, each with a latticework border on ivory field within a blue/black ground, densely filled with stylized horses, crabs and stars within a terracotta crenalated guard border, the ivory main border with blue terracotta and ivory H lozenges. SIZE: 8′ 10″ x 4′ 2″. CONDITION: Rug retains strong colors with overall even wear, each end slightly misshapen with creasewear and minor losses, selvages with some losses.
