THREE FOLK ART CARVED FIGURES. Late 19th, early 20th century. 1) Horse head, carved from the solid, with brown glass eyes. 2) Carved deer’s head mounted on a trophy plaque in gold gilt paint with glass eyes and antlers. 3) Polychrome painted carved bust of a blackamoor with uniform and turban depicted without arms. SIZE: 1) 28″ l overall. 2) 23″ x 12″. 3) 17″ h. PROVENANCE: Barbara J. Thornsjo Estate, Albion, Maine CONDITION: 1) Paint has been removed. Shrinkage in seam crack. 2) Missing proper right ear. Proper left ear damaged. 3) Bust with considerable paint loss. Otherwise structurally good. 9-20852 (300-400)
