DISPLAY OF NAVAL BOATSWAIN WHISTLES WITH A COMMISSIONING PENNANT. First quarter 20th century. The whistles of various age, some being 19th century, all copper. Some with chrome plate. Arranged on a blue board mounted on a contemporary gold frame. The pennant, 6′ in length, with 7 stars in the traditional form dating this example to the early 1900s. SIZE: Interior matte: 13″ x 34″. CONDITION: Flag with deterioration from wear and use. Generally fair to good. Whistles appear in good to very good order. 9-25849 (800-1,200)
