CONTINENTAL CARVED OAK BLOCK FRONT SERPENTINE CHEST OF DRAWERS. Last quarter of the 18th Century. Probably Italian. Thin rectangular top with shaped molded edges and ogival corners above the rectangular case fitted with four graduated blocked and serpentine drawers on a molded base raised on modified bracket feet with scalloped and shaped returns. SIZE: 30-1/2″ h x 35″ w x 19-3/4″ d. CONDITION: Professionally repolished with some small structural restoration to case including filled shrinkage cracks, retains original backboards and bracket feet with some restoration. Brass hardware consists of escutcheons and ring pulls that are later replacements. Very good chocolate brown color. 9-98070 (1,000-2,000)
