CONTINENTAL SCENIC GARDEN TAPESTRY. Late 18th, early 19th century, French or Belgian. The tableau depicting several couples in period dress, the central figure of a rearing horseman, the main border woven with a series of individual figures alternating with large floral bouquets and fruit sprays. SIZE: 10′ 4″ x 6′ 9″. CONDITION: The tapestry with wear throughout, professional restoration, but retaining structural integrity. Now with a later cotton hand stitched backing. Fitted for hanging with sewn on rings and velcro strips. 9-98288 (3,000-5,000)
