AMERICAN FOLK ART CARVED AND PAINTED SCHOONER WEATHERVANE. Early 20th century. The wooden hull painted black and red fitted with two masts, bowsprit and rudder. The rigging in copper wire. The single sail of sheet metal. Accompanied by contemporary iron stand. SIZE: 32″ h overall, 27-3/4″ h of weathervane, 34″ l. CONDITION: The aft mast with midpoint repair, now with copper sheathing. With various broken and missing rigging elements. Otherwise very good with original painted surfaces. 9-98112 (1,500-2,500)
