ASSEMBLED SET OF 5 BIRDCAGE WINDSOR SIDE CHAIRS. First quarter 19th century. Each example in brown paint with seven spindles beneath a three spindled birdcage crest joined to shaped saddle seats raised on four splayed legs joined by a box stretcher. All chairs are with simulated bamboo elements. This is a near matching set with only minor differences in curvature of back and plank seats. SIZE: 33″ – 34-3/4″ h of backs, 16-1/2″ – 17-1/2″ h of seats. CONDITION: Each chair with early, but not original, red wash and brown paint. No major structural repairs or issues.
