THREE FAN BACK WINDSOR SIDE CHAIRS. Late 18th century. Comprised of a pair and a single side chair, all in green paint. The pair, of New England origin, an eight spindle example, above a shaped saddle seat raised on splayed baluster turned legs joined by a swelled H-stretcher. The single example, probably Philadelphia, with seven spindles. The baluster turned splayed legs joined by a turned and “reel” H-stretcher. SIZE: 35″ – 35-1/2″ h of backs, 16″ h of seats. CONDITION: The pair with old repairs and braces to seats and with a single broken stretcher. One rear leg shows evidence of being a replacement. All three have been professionally reglued and tightened. All with old green paint, some enhanced. Good overall. 9-98354, 9-98355 (800-1,000)
