FOUR SHAKER LADDERBACK SIDE CHAIRS. Second half 19th century, probably Ohio/Kentucky. Three matching three slat side chairs in red paint with swelled tapered finals and woven trapezoidal seats. The fourth a #3 ladderback side chair with acorn finials retaining original brown stain and trapezoidal woven seat. SIZE: First 3 chairs: 40-1/2″ h of back. #3 chair 33-1/2″ h of back, 15-1/2″ h of seat. CONDITION: Three chairs: retains original painted red surfaces now dry and with wear. The woven seats appear early if not original. Frames in need of tightening. The #3 chair is very good overall. 9-20701 (300-400)
