SHERATON TRANSITIONAL CARVED MAPLE AND MAHOGANY CHEST OF DRAWERS. Circa 1840. The rectangular deck top fitted with a pair of aligned drawers and headed by a splash guard with rolled ears, stepped back on the conforming chest fitted with four long drawers. The turned pilasters in the form of engaged 3/4 columns continuing to ring and ball turned legs. SIZE: 50″ h overall, 39-1/2″ h of working surface, 42″ w overall. PROVENANCE: Estate of Nancy H. Woods, Boothbay, Maine. CONDITION: Original surfaces and hardware. Good patina. Replaced backboard. Otherwise good. 9-20902 (400-600)
