WELL CONSTRUCTED AND PRESENTED MODEL OF A STUART SINGLE-CYLINDER VERTICAL STEAM ENGINE. This beautiful model has a brass-bound mahogany-jacketed cylinder of approx. 1-1/2” bore x 1-2/2” stroke with a single 6-3/4” dia. spoked flywheel with brass hub. Cylinder mounted valve chest with embossed letter “s”. Eccentric-driven slide valve, welded steel split-pillar pedestal and frame, machined brass and steel connecting rod and center-mounted steel crankshaft, brass bushings and main bearing lubricants. Green painted base and pedestal. Runs smoothly, either direction on steam or compressed air. SIZE: Model is 13” h mounted on a later mahogany base which is 11” x 8-1/2”.
