NEW ENGLAND SHERATON CARVED MAHOGANY BOX SOFA. Circa 1840, probably Massachusetts. The rectangular over-upholstered back joined to down sloping sides continuing to molded scrolled mahogany arms on spiral twist swelled supports continuing to a blocked seat frame, over upholstery, raised on swelled reeded and ring turned frontal legs and back swept square legs on brass capped casters. SIZE: 33″ h of back x 76″ overall l. CONDITION: Structurally very good, retaining original old surfaces. No visible breaks or restoration. 9-97875 (800-1,200)
