EUGENE COURTEILLE (French, 20th Century) “A CHAT BY THE WAYSIDE”. Oil on canvas sunset landscape scene shows two women and young girl gathering sticks at edge of forest. One woman sits on filled sled while a woman and child stand beside in conversation. Snow covered ground leads across water to a village which is seen under a sunset sky with bright colors of blue to orange. Signed lower right “Eug. Courteille”. Housed in its original frame liner having an old exhibit label with artist name, title and No. 87. SIZE: 16” x 24”. CONDITION: Relined with spot inpainting.
