Highlights of this lot include: 1) Japanese wood block print titled “Lily and Keri Bird” by Bairei Kohno (1844-1895) in near excellent condition. Sight size: 13-1/4″ w x 18-1/2″ h. 2) A partial set of three French lithographed posters illustrating children’s stories and intended for classroom display. Posters read: “Les Fables de LaFontaine en Action – Librairie Delagrave, Paris”. Good to very good condition with some horizontal roll creasing. Size: 16″ w x 38″ h. 3) Floral still life oil painting on panel dated May 1932. Good condition. Size: 11-1/2″ w x 14-1/2″ h. 4) Japanese embroidery on silk. 5) 19th century Mason’s silk apron. Good condition with age deterioration. Size: 16-3/4″ w x 19″ h. 6) Christmas cloth decoration with illustration of Santa Claus in a blue suit, his arms loaded with toys. Corners feature vignettes of Christmas activities, circa 1890. Very good condition. Bustling street imagery includes towering downtown mercantile buildings, a Washington St. trolley car, motorized and horse drawn carriages and in the foreground an elegant matron with child being seated into a motor car. Copyright 1901 by Curtis Pub. Co. In near excellent condition. Sight Size: 13-1/2″ w x 18-1/2″ h. 8) New Orleans 1989 Mardi Gras silkscreen. This was the official poster designed by New Orleans native Hugh Ricks and is numbered “1604/5000”. Near excellent condition. Size: 29-1/2″ w x 21-1/4″ h. 9) Hand-tinted early photo of a young boy dressed as a soldier with much of his uniform, rifle and scabbard being drawn in pastels. Good to very good condition.
