LOT OF 14 AVIATION/TRANSPORTATION FRAMED ITEMS. Lot highlights include: 1) Fall River Line photograph of their passenger steamship the “Commonwealth” passing under a bridge. Condition is very good. Photograph measures 9-1/2″ w x 7-1/2″ h. 2) “The World” June 1910 newspaper supplement illustration of the Curtis Biplane landing at Governor’s Island. Condition is good with age toning. Measures 14-3/4″ w x 9-1/2″ h. 3) United Airlines “Mainliner” promotional cardboard poster. Condition is good to very good. Sight Size is 29-3/4″ w x 19-3/4″ h. 4) Illustration of pilots Huenefeld, Koehl and Fitzmaurice; first to cross the Atlantic from Europe to America, April 12-13, 1928. Condition is good to very good. Measures 19″ w x 11″ h. 5) Terrific early large format photograph of a fire hose wagon and crew. The wagon is seen painted with the name “Geo. R. Stone” and “Brooklyn”, with a street sign marker visible indicating this is the corner of Washington St. and Cypress St. Possibly an 1880s copy of an earlier glass plate negative. 6) Panoramic b/w photo of the 1939 New York World’s Fair with the Trylon and Perisphere centered in the frame. Condition is good, needs cleaning. Sight Size is 33-3/4″ w x 9″ h. 7) Two sets of early framed aviation air show photographs. Total of 18 individual photos taken circa 1920 with pilots and planes identified. Condition is good.
