Pastel on paper shows a child with brown hair and blue eyes wearing a white fancy dress seated on a grassy bank next to small stream. Large trees frame the background and there is a wide brim hat beside. Housed in what appears to be its original painted gold frame. An unusual medium for an early American portrait. SIZE: 30” x 24”. CONDITION: Three of the four corners have tears and there is one slit in tree. Otherwise good. 9-28972 (1,000-1,500)
