MINIATURE NEW ENGLAND CHIPPENDALE BLANKET CHEST IN BLUE PAINT. Last quarter 18th century. This fine example in old blue paint over red wash. The rectangular hinged top with applied molded edges. The lid interior with the name “J. H. Hoerner” in script. The interior with lidded till and retaining original wrought iron spade form latch and iron lock with heart shaped key. The dovetailed case on a molded base raised on original shaped bracket feet. SIZE: 14″ h x 27-1/2″ l x 12″ d. CONDITION: Very good overall with small areas of paint loss (see photo). 9-20719 (900-1,200)
