SHERATON CURLY MAPLE AND WALNUT CHEST OF DRAWERS. Circa 1840. New England. Rectangular walnut top above the conforming case fitted with a pair of aligned short drawers crossbanded and with cockbeaded edges over three long drawers with bow fronts, flanked by floral and foliate carved pilasters each with central free-standing Ionic columns raised on carved claw feet. All draw fronts of figured maple, and with original glass knobs. SIZE: 44″ h x 43″ w x 22″ d. PROVENANCE: From the “Harp House” of Camden, Maine. CONDITION: Generally good with old surfaces. Shrinkage cracks in top panel. One glass knob with chip, one knob a replacement. 9-26962 (800-1,200)
