FINE RARE COPPER BANNERETTE WEATHERVANE. Second half 19th century. Unusual example depicting a crest with opposing bows centering three arrow tips within the banner. Arrow shaft joined again by opposing bows. Bannerette surmounted by large pointed spear or lance head. Purported to have originated from a lodge building of the “Improved Order of Red Men”. Now mounted on museum stand. SIZE: 43-1/2″ h of vane x 52″ l. 66″ h overall. CONDITION: Some splits to bows forward of banner. Possible losses to half of spheres at head of banner.
