AMERICAN MOLDED COPPER DISPLAYED EAGLE WEATHERVANE. First quarter 20th century. Gilt decorated displayed eagle perched and clenched in its talons on a mid-banded ball joined to a weighted arrow with sheet copper feathers. Sold with a modern stand. SIZE: 20″ h of vane, 24″ wingspan, 21″ h overall. CONDITION: Retains original gilded surfaces with losses to leading edges of wings and to back of neck which is also dented. Other losses and imperfections to surfaces resulting from weathering within normal parameters. 9-98451 (2,500-3,000)
