Humorous caricature of a jovial gardener with his colossal cabbage, captioned “True Early Winningstadt” variety which this seed company claims is unaffected by cabbage worms. The Germanic gardener is illustrated protecting the cabbage from comical caricatures of cabbage worms who are moving on to easier produce pickings. Lithographed by Mayer, Merkel & Ottman of NY for the Jerome B. Rice & Co, Cambridge, NY. SIZE: Sight Size 20-3/4″ w x 37-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Overall appearance is good to very good with some fold creasing. Close examination reveals several areas of in-painting, some airbrush touch-up to the white background and color touch-up to vertical tear that extends from the middle of the poster down to the German character’s jacket collar. 1-10842 (600-800)
