J. CORBETT (American 19th-20th Century) “LA BELLE RIVIERE”. Folk art oil on canvasboard shows a Mississippi River scene with a two stack side-wheel steam-packet sailing left to right in a sunset landscape. The boat has it’s name emblazoned on the side-wheel, also “Louisville – New Orleans”. On the boat are seen passengers, cotton bales, minstrels, etc. Signed bottom right. Housed in its original gilt frame. SIZE: 12″ x 16″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-25652 (1,200-1,800)
