ADAM & EVE PICTORIAL SCHOOLGIRL SAMPLER. Probably mid-19th century. This unsigned and undated example, purportedly from a CT home with a bright floral polychrome zigzag border centering Methodist Psalm 246 flanked by angels, all above a scene depicting a Georgian home on a formal lawn with ducks and birds surrounded by flowing trees and a large fruit tree beneath which stands a stylized Adam and Eve with serpent. SIZE: 22″ x 23-1/2″ sight. CONDITION: Retains vibrant colors, the background with some circular staining through the midsection. The right side lawn facing with an unfinished section as evidenced by blue yarn. 9-98123 (1,000-1,500)
